Local Area Information

La Bastide de Prenn is situated just below the little hamlet of La Mourre. You approach it by a long unmade up drive which is not particularly suited to very low slung cars as there are rain diverter humps. It is in an extremely private position with spectacular views over the valley. Further down the road are various farming and vineyard properties.

The house is about 10 minutes drive from La Garde Freinet and 15 minutes from Plan de la Tour - both very picturesque villages which have some lovely restaurants and market days.

St. Tropez is about 40 minutes away and well worth a visit just to view the "passing show" if nothing else - you can take a ferry there from St Maxime or Port Grimaud to avoid the heavy traffic during July and August. There are numerous beaches all along the coast about 30 minutes drive away. We are about an hour and a half from Nice and Marseilles airports, 40 minutes from Toulon airport and two hours from Monte Carlo.

There are numerous golf courses all around La Garde Freinet and tennis courts in the village and at Plan de la Tour. It is a very popular area with walkers and cyclists as we are surrounded by National Forests.

LA GARDE FREINET
La Garde Freinet is a market village where you can find a variety of restaurants as well as bakers, butchers, 2 small supermarkets and of course the local market which occurs every Wednesday and Sunday morning.

ST TROPEZ
St. Tropez is about 40 min away and well worth a visit.

BEACHES
There are many beaches within half an hour's drive. The choice is huge, stretching from St Maxime to La Croix Valmer, to Gigaro, to Cavalaire and Le Lavandou; not to mention the beaches of St Tropez. Take your pick from sandy, pebbly, topless, family etc.

MARKETS
There are plenty of markets to go to: La Garde Freinet, Vidauban, St Tropez, Port Grimaud, Cogolin, Plan de la Tour, St. Maxime, Grimaud, details of which are in our Housebook.

We travelled as a family of 12 with an age range between 1 and 79. The level of communication was fantastic and Lynn tried to help with all of our requests. The house was perfect and I just do t know where to begin.

We would love to return to this property and hope we can in the future. Thankyou for providing a wonderful base for a fantastic family holiday.
